A whole different approach to burgers. Burgers are a staple of summertime, as we all know. Everything about a good, juicy burger that’s just come off the grill, with all of your favorite toppings – bacon, cheddar, and some tasty fried mushrooms – is unbeatable. It goes without saying that a classic hamburger comes with one more component: the bread. And for someone who is attempting to avoid carbohydrates, this can completely derail the entire meal. So, for those of you carb-avoiders out there, I’ve come up with a completely new method to eat burgers that doesn’t use a bun.

It is preferable to shape the beef into little bowls and then top them with cheddar, mushrooms, and bacon rather than making them into patties.

BBQ sauce, ranch dressing, chopped chives, or a combination of the three can be used to top them.

Fully Loaded Burger Bowls

Ingredients: 2 pound of super lean beef 2 and a half teaspoons Lawry’s Seasoned Salt (Lawry’s Seasoned Salt) 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (optional) 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (optional) 4 tablespoons of butter 2 cups thinly sliced button mushrooms 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese shredded, split, sliced 10 bacon pieces, cooked and sliced chives, bacon bbq sauce, ranch dressing for sprinkling Directions:

  1. Combine the meat, seasoned salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a large mixing bowl. Form four meat bowls on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, using a clean jar or can. Remove from consideration
  2. Sauté mushrooms in butter in a medium-sized skillet. Taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Divide the mixture into four equal halves. Place 1/4 cup cheese in each meat dish and top with 1/4 cup cheese
  3. Then add mushrooms and 2 pieces worth of chopped bacon to each meat bowl and repeat. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F, covered with a foil tent (foil loosely covering the top of the pan). Add diced bacon, bbq sauce, ranch dressing, and chopped chives just before serving.

The inspiration for this dish came from a friend of mine who suffers from celiac disease and prefers to eat her burgers in lettuce leaves rather than on a burger roll. During our most recent road trip, I recall seeing her eat it and thought to myself, “There’s got to be a better/less dirty way to do that!” Despite my fondness for carbohydrates, I can only eat bread once or twice a day without feeling bloated. Consequently, this dish is an excellent answer for those like us as well as for those who are on the ketogenic diet.

Ingredients

The ground beef and salad greens are the only two items that must be included in this burger bowl. Let me tell you what I want in my burger since everything else is entirely up to you. First and foremost, cheese must be present. I’m willing to make many sacrifices for my hamburger, but cheese is not one of them. The second item is a piece of tomato. I’m convinced that my burger is in desperate need of the juicy sweetness that only a ripe tomato can provide. At long last, an excellent burger sauce may completely transform the dining experience!

You may also use ground turkey or pork instead of ground beef, or even a plant-based mince. I spiced up my meat to make it more flavorful by adding a few of herbs and spices. Aside with salt, I added garlic powder and smoked paprika as flavoring agents. Because we are not cooking our “burger,” adding a hint of smokey flavor through the use of paprika is a fantastic option.

The most important thing here is to keep your heat on medium high to achieve a good color on them!

  • Before you begin cooking the beef, bacon, and mushrooms, make sure you have all of your ingredients ready. Salad dressing: Combine the mayonnaise, the ketchup, and the hot sauce in a small dish and whisk until well combined. Add a splash of water until the dressing reaches a desirable consistency. Salad greens and other toppings should be arranged in bowls. In a frying pan, cook the bacon until the fat has rendered and the bacon is crispy. Toss everything except 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease onto a separate dish and set aside. What’s the point of a bun? Instead of a bread, try this delectable bunless burger. Simply place your ingredients between two beef patties and cook how you choose! You can use any combination of mustard, mayonnaise, cheese, and vegetables between the layers, or you can use just a slice of cheese for the most basic form. In any case, I have a feeling you won’t miss the bun. Bread used to be one of my favorite foods, but now I consider it to be an unneeded filler (Though I still have several good recipes forketo bread).

It’s impossible to overstate how beneficial a Bunless Burger is for individuals following a low carb or ketogenic diet.

You will no longer “need” bread to hold your burgers or hot dogs after you become accustomed to eating low-carbohydrate diets.

Ingredients

To prepare these delicious keto burgers, you’ll only need a few simple ingredients. Recipe card with specific measurements may be found at the bottom of this page. Here’s a quick rundown of what you’ll require: Ground beef patties (also known as burgers): A blend of 85/15 is my preferred ratio. In my perspective, anything leaner than that is too dry. In this specific recipe, I prefer to use pre-formed patties since they are easier to work with. They are more consistent in size and shape, and they hold their shape better when cooked than the ones I shape myself from a packet of hamburger ground.

  1. Dijon mustard is a kind of mustard that comes from France.

Instructions

It’s simple to make a bunless burger! For the whole recipe card, scroll down to the bottom of the page. The fundamental procedures are as follows: Season the beef patties with salt and pepper before grilling them. You can increase the amount of spices you use if you like (onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika). The only seasonings I use are salt and pepper. Cook the burgers on a hot cast-iron griddle until they are done to your liking. I cook them to medium-rare, approximately 3 minutes per side, on a cast-iron skillet.

Transfer the patties to a platter and set them aside for 5 minutes, gently covered with aluminum foil to keep them warm.

Grab two plates and use them to build the “sandwiches.” Place one burger on each platter when it has been cooked. Mustard should be used to spread it. On top of the mustard, stack the lettuce, onion, tomato, and cheese, and then top with another cooked patty to complete the sandwich.

Expert tip

It is critical that the burgers are allowed to rest for 5 minutes before serving them. This rest interval will allow the fluids to redistribute and settle, resulting in juicy burgers when the grill is turned off.

Mix lightly with your hands to evenly spread the spice, then divide the mixture into three equal-sized balls. Gently press/pat the mixture into patties, or use a burger press, as seen in the photo. You may avoid your burger from inflating up in the centre by making a little hollow in the center of it. Cook: Grease the grates. A small dusting of salt and pepper on the exterior of the hamburger patties will help them to hold their shape (both sides). Grill until the meat reaches the desired doneness. I prefer mine with a little of pink in the centre. Serve with your favorite toppings, but don’t forget to keep track of your carb intake. Optional: In order to make the caramelized onions. Cut the onions into thin slices. In a small saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-low heat. When the pan is heated, add the onions and cook until they are tender. Cook until the erythritol has melted and the mixture is beginning to brown or caramelize, about 5 minutes. There is a possibility that this process will take up to 10 minutes. Take note that various people’s taste buds respond differently to different types of Montreal Seasoning. To test how you like it, you might want to start with half of the amount of seasoning.
