Hiller’s grocery store, which was the last shop near me that carried them, went out of business here in Michigan, so I assumed that was the reason I hadn’t been able to locate them.
I would have done it no matter what!) In the years that I’ve had them, I’ve used them for everything from hotdogs and brats to tuna, crabchicken salad, Philly steaks, coney’s not so greasy sloppy Joe’s, and everything in between.

They are absolutely able to stay together (I dare anyone to try that with a regular old sub or hot dog bu) My repertoire of corn crab salad rolls has become so large over the years that I once had a complete stranger who only knew me from an annual end of summer corn roast come up to me and ask how I prepared those delectable U-shaped corn crab salad rolls, telling me she’d been fantasizing about them all year.
- I was a little sad to see that I’d made the identical corn crab salad in lettuce cups the previous year, especially because the buns had been so fantastic!

Hot Dog Snuggles
Tuesday, August 28th, 2009 at 10:57am I’m thinking of making several of these. I’m not searching for a recipe, but rather any recommendations on how to shape or use pans. You should try one of them if you have never had one before; they are like hot dog vaults. There will be no leaks, spills, or disintegration. They can contain a lot of chili, and if you fill them with crab salad, they’ll hold even more.:o)

Hsmum I had a good laugh at the name!:) What are your whereabouts? Is this the same as what we in North America would refer to as a “hot dog bun” or anything similar? It appears that pans may be purchased online, if that’s the case. Alternatively, you could just bake mini batards out of your favorite sandwich bread recipe and freeze them. Karen SylviaHDebra Winks at You What is the formation of cannoli? These incidents happened to me years ago while my nephews were small. - This is not sliced.
- Cannoli Molds may be found here.
- as well as the Toufayan brand They were fantastic for hotdogs, kellydogs, and sausages of all kinds.
- The dough is significantly denser and more substantial than before.
- I can see creating this with a harder dough and shaping it with a dowel pressed into it rather than using a mold of any kind.
Can you help me find the perfect hot dog “bun cradles”?
On August 27th, 2008, JackAdams(6526) inquired about My local grocery shop has discontinued offering these specific hot dog buns, and I would really appreciate it if you could assist me in locating them. These things are quite tough to express, but I’ll do my very best. If you’ve ever had a hot dog bun, you’re probably familiar with the way they appear. You pull them apart to insert the hot dog, and occasionally, the bun literally breaks apart while you’re in the middle of using it. A different type of hot dog bun, with a canoe-like form, is used to hold the hot dog.
Rather of being round, the buns are “U-shaped,” and they are packaged in such a way that they resemble the interlocking hands seen in this diagram: It is necessary to slide two of them away from one another after they have been removed from the box.
It’s unusual to come across “ideal” hot dog buns, but the ones I’m about to describe are certainly up to the task.
Could you possibly assist me in identifying and locating them? I’m confident that they are still being produced in California; all I need to do now is figure out which bakery is responsible for creating them. They are DESERVING of your attention. August 27, 2008, 7:37 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time

Snuggle My Dog
Sadly, my lack of domesticity got the better of me this evening. Pho was something I had planned to make because it was so chilly outside! After all, I even went to the grocery store and navigated my way through the after-school soccer mom supermarket rush, and I even returned my cart to the buggy-collector. After driving all the way home, I made the decision: hot dogs for dinner! Don’t start shouting at the top of your lungs just yet. Hot dogs can make a delicious meal! I’d like to suggest the following: The Hebrew Language National Franks made entirely of beef!
- and they taste just fantastic.
- I served them with some maple and bacon baked beans and a large glass of Stonyfield organic milk, and we were all set for the evening.
- Personally, I don’t mind spending a little extra money on a package of hot dogs that has elements I know are good for me.
- I have to tell you about the most incredible hot dog bun that has ever been invented.
- Because they are u-shaped and do not have a seam at the bottom, they can retain an astounding number of toppings without breaking apart, leaking, or otherwise compromising their integrity.
- They may normally be found in the deli section, near where the pita bread is stored.
- I’m not certain, but I get the impression that they are formed of a material that is comparable to pita bread.
It’s not very filling.
That is, if it makes any logical sense.
They actually do cuddle with your dog, as their name suggests!
I hope you all had a wonderful evening.

You have hot dogs, but no buns to go with them. You may make a trip to the store. In order to make the hot dog fit inside a round bun, you may perform that strange thing with hamburger buns that your father did when you were a kid. Or, far worse, sourdough bread. Alternatively, you may bake your own hot dog buns. The time commitment of half an hour, plus some waiting time, will most likely result in the finest hot dog you have ever had.
Why Make This
They are very delicious! Making your own hot dog buns may seem like an unnecessary “extra,” but believe me when I say it is worth it. It’s completely worthwhile. The flavor and texture of a store-bought hot dog bun are far inferior to those of a handmade hot dog bun. They are more nutrient-dense. Not only will you get a delightfully delicate handcrafted bun, but you will also have complete control over the ingredients used in the bun. The product contains no unusual substances, preservatives, or additions.
In contrast to shop purchased hot dog buns, which are likely to be manufactured with undesirable preservatives, handmade hot dog buns are created from scratch using actual ingredients. What you’ll need is as follows: You can use any type of milk you choose for this recipe. It makes the dough softer and more malleable. If necessary, you may use water for the broth, but the tenderness element will be diminished. the addition of an egg to your yeast breads gives them a wonderful texture There truly isn’t any other option.
- Use any oil that you are accustomed to using: canola, vegetable, olive, or avocado.
- Sugar– Although it is just a small amount of sugar, it contributes to the texture of the completed hot dog buns.
- Bread flour– Because bread flour has more gluten than all-purpose flour, it contributes to the texture of the finished product.
- salt– A small amount of salt may make a significant difference in the texture and flavor of handmade buns.
- Yeast is an important element since it aids in the rising of the dough; it is very required.
- If you opt for the latter, you will almost always be able to take advantage of bulk discounts.
- In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow for a five-minute proofing period.

Ammo Nation: Snuggles the Hot Dog
Greetings, and a pleasant evening to you all! It is with great excitement that I announce the discovery of a new product at my local grocery. Never before or after the invention of pickle relish has the hot dog business shown such foresight and innovation. The development has been made not because of Oscar Meyer, but because of Toufayan Bakeries, which is a PITA BAKERY! The Snuggle, which is simply a plush pita shell that can be used as a hot dog holding, open ended canoe, was invented by the wonderful people at Toufayan.
