Sorbet is one of my favorite desserts. I’ve been collecting wonderful sorbet recipes for quite some time now, and I thought I’d share them with you here as a collection. As a dessert option on the menus of many outstanding New Orleans restaurants (including Emeril’s, Bayona, and Brigtsen’s, to name a few), fresh house-made sorbets may not be typically Creole, but they are delicious nonetheless. In case you’ve been overindulging in butter and cream, this type of dessert is a fantastic choice for you.

- 3 eggs, 1 big can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, sprinkle of salt, 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda The icing consists of 1 cup sugar, 1 stick butter, 1 (5-ounce) can Pet milk (evaporated milk), 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 cup nuts, chopped, and a cup of coconut.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a 10-inch Bundt pan by greasing and flouring it, or spray it with Baker’s Joy nonstick cooking spray that contains flour. To prepare the cake, follow these steps: Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium-sized mixing basin. Add the sugar and then the eggs, one at a time. Fold in the pineapple until it is evenly distributed. In a preheated baking pan, pour the batter and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the sides begin to brown and peel away from the pan.
- While the oven is still hot, put the shredded coconut out on a baking sheet in an equal layer and toast for approximately 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in the pecans.
- While the cake is still warm, spread half of the topping over the entire cake.

- I’ll leave it up to you to decide which pan you’d want to cook with.

Cajun Dessert Recipes From Louisiana with ingredients,nutritions,instructions and related recipes
- 325 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature for the oven. Cooking spray with flour, such as Baker’s Joy non-stick cooking spray, should be greased and floured before use. Make the cake according to package directions. Flour, baking soda, and salt should be sifted together in a medium-sized mixing dish. Then, one egg at a time, add the sugar and mix until well combined. Fold in the pineapple until it is completely covered. In a preheated baking pan, pour the batter and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the sides begin to brown and peel away from the pan. To finish cooling, put out the cake onto a wire rack or cake stand and allow it to cool entirely. Bake for about 3 minutes at 350°F while spreading the shredded coconut out evenly on a baking sheet while the oven is still hot. The next ingredients should be prepared while your cake is cooling – Pour the ingredients into a medium-sized saucepan and heat over low heat for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool completely before serving. Add pecans after removing from heat and removing pan from heat. Place the cake on a cake stand that has plenty of area for the cake to expand (for runaway topping). While the cake is still hot, spread half of the topping over the entire cake. Extra drizzle can be added to the cake by using the remaining topping. On top of the cake, sprinkle toasted coconut. There should be plenty for 8–10 people. I’ll leave it up to you to decide which pan to make use of. I would note, though, that if you make it in a bundt pan like I did, you’ll want to use a cake stand with a slight lip on it, otherwise the icing will drip right off and you’ll be left with a sloppy mess to clean up. I’ve also discovered that putting it in the refrigerator for a minute or two helps to stiffen the icing a little bit. A handwritten recipe for ” Lettie’s Broccoli ” was also tucked away in the cookbook. When my grandmother’s sister in law Lettie made her broccoli casserole, she used 10 tablespoons of butter, 5 eggs, and a medium container of Cheese Whiz. WHAT?!?! We’ll get started on it this next weekend! As well as you, I’ll share it. Thank you for bearing with me through this gloomy post. I appreciate it.
