Sorbet is one of my favorite desserts. I’ve been collecting wonderful sorbet recipes for quite some time now, and I thought I’d share them with you here as a collection. As a dessert option on the menus of many outstanding New Orleans restaurants (including Emeril’s, Bayona, and Brigtsen’s, to name a few), fresh house-made sorbets may not be typically Creole, but they are delicious nonetheless. In case you’ve been overindulging in butter and cream, this type of dessert is a fantastic choice for you.

Beignets served with chicory coffee, for a truly authentic New Orleans finish, would be ideal.

That, on the other hand, is more of a breakfast item than a dessert.

If you’re feeling very adventurous, try it with a touch of bourbon.

That brings me to bread pudding – this particular recipe (which was a contest winner!) is also citrus-flavored.

When it comes to citrus, I agree with nutcakes.

For those who are not fans of shellfish, there is something filling available.

My dessert menu for Super Bowl Sunday will include the following items in addition to those included in my previous two postings. Your visitors will be asking for more after tasting them because they are all incredibly simple to prepare and exquisitely tasty. They’d also be fantastic for Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras celebrations, or any other occasion when you’re in the mood for something utterly decadent and indulgent. Besides, it’s all worth it, cher. Enjoy! Brownies with Bourbon Icing and Praline Icing a third of a cup of butter 1/2 cup sugar (about) 2 tablespoons of water 1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or bittersweet) 2 big eggs (about) 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence 1/4 cup all-purpose flour a quarter teaspoon of baking soda a quarter teaspoon of salt 1/2 cup toasted pecans, chopped 2 to 3 tablespoons of bourbon The butter, sugar, and water should be combined in a big pot.

  1. Cook over medium heat until the water is just about to boil.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and let it aside to cool slightly.
  3. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and pecans in a large mixing bowl until thoroughly combined.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees in a preheated oven and allow to cool in the pan.
  5. Delicious to the extreme!
  6. Boil for one minute, whisking frequently, until the sauce is thick.
  7. Remove from heat and continue to whisk for approximately 3 minutes, or until the liquid begins to thicken.

This recipe yields 1 1/2 cups.

Butter or Baker’s Joy should be used to grease the bottom and sides of a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Stir in the butter until the mixture resembles crumbled breadcrumbs.

Place the pan in the oven for 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Filling In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining 4 tablespoons flour, the eggs, the margarita mix, the water, the sugar, and the lemon juice.

Pour the mixture over the crust that has been allowed to cool.

Allow to cool on a wire rack.

Add the vanilla, lemon juice, and zest and mix well.

Spread equally on the cooled bars and place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
